File Requirement
Your files should be prepared in CMYK color mode, 300dpi resolution. You may save your files in PDF, JPEG, Photoshop, Eps, and Ai format.
Size - plastic card size is 3.35"x2.125". It's not the same as business card (3.5"x2") size.
Fonts - you must create outlines to all text to avoid missing font issues. Do not send fonts with your files.
Bleed - your layout should provide at least 1/8" (0.125") bleed on all sides. Your overall layout size should be 3.6"x2.375", while the important elements and text should be kept within 3.1"x1.875" to avoid being trimmed.
Optional Upgrades - these files should be prepared and submitted separately from your print files.
Magnetic Stripe Encoding
If you have a Point-of-Sale (POS) system established with gift card function enabled by your POS company, we can encode the exact numbers on the front of the cards in the magnetic stripes, so you can slide through your POS card reader. There are 4 tracks in the magnetic stripe. Usually gift cards use either track 1 or track 2. Track 3 and 4 are rarely used in gift cards. It is very IMPORTANT that you know which track your POS company has enabled. Your POS company who set up your cash register or stations would be able to tell you which track you should use. Note that:
a. Track 1 usually contains English character and numbers.
b. Track 2 usually contains numbers only.
Sequential or Fixed Numbering (Raised & Iimprint numbers)
We can number your plastic cards with sequential, fixed numbers, and random numbers. To elect sequential or fixed numbering options, you need to:
a. Indicate only the starting number in the order form on our website, we will do the rest.
b. Upload a positioning file to show us where these numbers will be located (approximate font size and style are fine).
For random numbers - in addition to the positioning file, you also need to upload the random number list in Microsoft Excel format.
